This area offers walks of all types - if you want to walk along the beautiful beach at Sandwood Bay or stand on top of the most northerly munro - Ben Hope, there are plenty of routes to follow.
You can walk in to Britain's highest waterfall, Eas Coul Aulin 658ft . This can take hours and be treacherous - so one for the serious walker.
Alternatively, you could drive to Durness and walk down from the road to see Smoo Cave. Set into limestone cliffs, Smoo Cave is an impressive 200 feet long, 130 feet wide and 50 feet high at the entrance-way. The cave is a great tourist attraction for people visiting the north-west coast, and well worth a visit.

The Sutherland Walkers' Group welcomes both regular and occasional walkers.
